The sound quality of some VSTs is indistinguishable from a real recording. All the issues and costs of working with a real orchestra are removed. VST strings are the perfect solution for this problem. The only occasions I’ve been fortunate enough to work with real strings sections was on projects with large media companies and record labels. This makes it an option out of most people’s budget. Orchestras and strings sections make a welcome addition to most styles of music. Particularly when composing film and video game soundtracks, orchestral instrumentation is nearly essential. Often during my time as a music producer and composer, I find myself looking for strings to lay into a track.
